SAP and TEDxGateway, wondrous amalgamation of brilliant ideas and thoughts

The TEDx program created in the spirit of TED‘s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level and operated under license from TED. Over the past few years India has played host to a number of TEDx events, TEDxGateway 2015 held at NCPA (Mumbai) is just another example of it, is the biggest event in Asia.

For those who are not aware what TED is all about? TED is a non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

Well we are all aware of SAP's Software & Solutions in Technology and Business sector, after powering the TEDxTeen in New York earlier this year (May 2015), the annual event saw an eclectic mix of ethnically and socially diverse speakers giving inspiring speeches and presenting their world-changing innovations leaving the large audience mesmerized.

Apart from TEDx events, we would also like to highlight the Digitalist Magazine which mainly focuses on compelling ideas and insights for leading the transformation in shaping the future of tech and business. Aiming at expanding their Content Marketing Strategy it was launched earlier this year. It mainly focuses at executives who want to be abreast with technology, interested in innovation,  various challenges businesses face in the digital economy.

Coming back to TEDxGateway event, it was really overwhelming to hear about various products and innovations from many eminent speakers like KshitijMarwah, KanavKahol, Andrew Nemr and many more — I was particularly inspired by the idea and vision of Eric Ju Yoon Kim.

Watch Eric Ju Yoon Kim talking about his product here:

“Eric Ju Yoon Kim is the developer of the world's first Braille watch. The watch lets blind people read real-time Smartphone data in Braille. The Dot, a device that straps around the wrist like a watch, uses magnets and a grid of pins to create four Braille characters at a time that change at adjustable speeds, allowing users to read text messages and use apps on any device via Bluetooth. The Dot uses a moveable Braille interface made of magnets and pins strapped to the wrist like a watch” as mentioned on the his profile at tedxgateway.com. You can also browse through the profiles of other speakers given on the website and read about their innovations which are positively impacting the society; it's really inspiring.

While understanding his product which is truly revolutionary, I was so impressed by the way he has utilised technology to impact a million lives of the people who cannot see. This watch would actually enable Blind people to connect to their Smartphones in a totally new way. Now this is something I call a true innovation as it enriches people’s lives by using technology and it has been done for the first time in the World.

Also watch Kshitij Marwah at the TEDx Gateway pre-event

"Kshitij Marwah" is a young innovator and the founder of Tesseract Imaging. Who developed the technology of 3D Photography & very recently 360 camera.

With all these experiences, I got to know that there are still a lot of leaders like SAP and TED out there who are actually focusing on innovation and changing the world for a better future of people apart from those who are only focussing on replicating business models from different geographies in to their countries.
