7 Gadgets You Wish Would Come Along With Your Car

With more and more cars rolling out of the factory gates with built-in Bluetooth and navigation systems, the market for in-car gadgetry should be drying up but there is still a wealth of interesting tech add-ons for your automobile.

Of course, one reason for this is that cars have a much longer life-cycle than gadgets. A four-year-old sat nav is a relic but a four-year-old car still almost new.

Effects of Rapid Technology Transformation

There are many things that people used long ago, but that we do not use today because we have much better “Technology”. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes etc or it can be embedded in machines, computers, devices, and factories which can be operated by individuals without detailed knowledge of the workings of such things. There’s more leisure, more ease, and more speed - all because of "RAPID TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION”.

Not just talking about Amazon, Flipkart or any other shopping department store, almost all types of purchases from software to travel arrangements to insurance can be done. E-commerce has soared and with it comes new opportunities for businesses. Taking in view an eraser or any electronic device, well there’s everything which we can buy online, of which we couldn’t even imagine a decade ago.

What more do we want if we have our Bank account walking with us? Yes, the advanced technology has led to the emergence of Mobile Banking through which we can handle our transactions through our mobile.

Phew! Such an Ease for us!

With the emergence of new gadgets, it has become an ease for us to talk, see and speak to our loved ones. Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp etc are some of the very popular applications that give us such facilities.

We can share pictures, videos, music and many more things through such applications. Technology runs in the veins of society and it has definitely benefited the society. Automation brought about by technology has saved human effort and time to a large extent. It has brought distant places closer and simplified information access. It has made the world a smaller place to live in.

It is almost impossible to enlist all the positive effects of technology on society. The fast-advancing technology, on the whole, has given impetus to developments in various fields and improved the quality of human life. There's less risk, less effort, less mess. There is more leisure, more ease, and more speed.

How is Technology helping in Women Safety

“Technology” and “Women Safety”, these have become two of the very important terms recently. Technology is advancing faster and has become an important part of our lifestyle as well as has become a “necessity”. Likewise, women safety has become a top priority for everybody to look upon. Various measures are being taken to improve women safety.

Technology can’t stop violence against women neither it can guarantee women safety, but it can change the way how we raise awareness about it and help us to prevent it. I am a student and at times I’m worried when I have to travel alone during the night. Even my parents get worried when I don’t reach on time. While walking on the streets and finding no cabs no rickshaws to drop you, well, it’s a cause of getting worried and scared too. But now it seems there are ways to ease my fears. Of course, the credit goes to the latest technology, which is solving our problems way too faster. Now if we have a cell phone in our hands, then half of our worries and tensions are reduced. Yes! Technology has given birth to various alternatives that help to reduce any kind of violence and let us feel safe and secure.

Various personal safety applications such as SOS”, “VithU” etc.have been introduced, especially after the 2012 Delhi gang rape case. These apps have received increased prominence. They aim to keep users safe with technology-enabled features like GPS, SMS, alerts, alarms, and more. In the case of any emergency, they can alert others that you need help, even if you are unable to convey them anyhow. I agree that these methods are not stopping women violence but at least they are reducing it as well decreasing the chance for a crime to happen.

Not only this, technology is helping women to protest more loudly, to draw attention to the horrific violence happening all around. Unfortunately, there’ll never be a day where I don’t look over my shoulder every time I walk out the door. No woman will, I guess. But the technology will let me sleep a little easier knowing that there are people out there in the world who want to change that.

How User reviews at AspectWise enable better buying decisions

Online Reviews is the latest word-of-mouth when it comes to buying gadgets, ranging from Mobile to Laptops and various other accessories. It is certainly very crucial to see if the the product you are going to buy would suffice your need. There are already a lot of famous publishers like Digit, BGR and Gadgets 360 (NDTV) where we can see the specifications and reviews of the latest gadgets. But what if we could get a website wherein we get only user reviews, which means personal experience of normal users who have already bought that product. Well, the biggest advantage that those reviews would not be biased and it certainly adds more credibility where users themselves have a say after using the gadget. Aspectwise enables you to make smarter buying decisions when it comes to gadgets using user opinions and ratings.

A gadget being good or bad is a relative term, one person might be looking for a phone with good camera while someone else wants a phone with a good battery life. One of the best features of Aspectwise is that it enables you to filter your search criteria for gadgets using your buying preference. For example in the mobile sections, along with the price range, it includes the options of Design fan, Camera lover, Heavy users etc. In case you want to search phones having a good camera, your result would be Best Camera Phones.

Also there is a filter option again in detail, which can help you narrow down your search from specifications like battery
life, RAM, storage and other important features. While searching for a specific product, you get the detailed insights like Nexus 6P.

Similarly, there are relevant criterias for Laptop, Tablet, Speakers and Headphones etc. Now once you have applied your filters, you can get the list of all the products which fall under you buying preference. Once you click on any particular gadget you can see detailed reviews from people on various aspects ranging from performance, design, packaging etc. Now this certainly saves your time and makes the search process quite simpler.

There is an aggregated overall rating ranging from 1 to 5 in the form of stars, along with the number of users who have given it. Also, relative percentage of positive versus negative opinions for that gadget. It also shows the comparative pricing of a gadget on the major E-Commerce platforms. One more point of credibility is that the reviews are from the users who are certified buyers from Amazon, Flipkart or Snapdeal. This ensures that you are reading the review from a person who has actually bought the product and used it personally.

The overall functionality and user interface of AspectWise.in is very comprehensive and simple. It really serves the purpose of increasing credibility from the user reviews and helps in taking better preference based decisions.

SOLI: A Google project of touchless interaction

Technology has already  created incredible changes to the world and this may be yet another milestone. Google visualizes Soli to change interaction with the world without touching things. Google has been inventing astonishing technologies, the latest experiment is from Advanced Technology and Project group (ATAP) in San Francisco, they are creating this fascinating technology on the powerful motion control of our gesture with the smart watch, tablet, the radio, medical equipment and other daily used appliances. ATAP led the main stress on the size of a chip. They preferred to design Soli as small as they can because it can be embedded in any device, so the  chip is  small and expedient.

Physical touch to any button or switch is replaced by input devices like mouse, keyboard or screen touch display and this is  further replaced by gesture controlling system. The project Soli works on the especial approximation, i.e. Radar system. The frequency of the emitted radiation plays an important role in gesture analysis. It is in the form of the chip where no other rotatory part is involved, it can be embedded inside devices and eradicate the need for a button. The signal gets emitted from the chip and strikes to a movable object or any part of the body through which we act and gets reflected back. And the distance calculated by the difference of incoming and outgoing of the signal is a compact wave signal, through this, we provide a signal process and machine learning technique to detect the gesture. The Soli chip works at 60 GHz radar spectrum and has a refresh rate 10,000 frames per second.

This chip can detect small motion of our hand like, swiping side of the thumb on the index finger will lead to rising or low of a volume, and swiping up and down will be used in scrolling. The thumb and index finger together tapping will judge the pressing of a button.

Ivan Poupyrev said that companies like Leap Motion or Intel already use this gesture technology in camera’s, but this are cumbersome and require additional hardware. So, Google invented this mini chip that can be just embedded inside any device. "It is improbable how simple is radar emitted chip, it has no camera tracking, you may placed soli wherever you want" he said.

Due to soli's compatible size, it can be embedded in any device you want. Soli's gesture technology is a step forward towards a future of touch-less interactions with devices.

How can watermill solve the most alarming problem of our planet?

The purest form of water on the planet is air. As far as we talk about the water resources, it is present in abundance in the crust. But when it comes to consuming it, a large part of these resources are in vain because a very little amount of water is used for the consumption even then the humans are not down in wasting the earth’s most precious resource. The water that should be treated like a sustainable product of this nature, we ill treat it severely. The government of different nations around the world tries to minimize it by hitting some huge steps. But still, by every passing day, this problem gets worse and even today there is a very small amount of  water on the earth for the drinking purpose.

Let's draw the attention towards the distribution of water on the planet:

From the total amount of fresh water available, a large proportion is locked in glaciers. From the net amount we are able to consume, there are billions of litres of water that are generated by the atmosphere every single day. All thanks to the natural cycle which contributes a lot in saving millions of life.

Technically speaking, watermill is an atmospheric water collection device that condenses water vapour and purifies it. The mechanism of converting water to air is even more unique. Using an air intake fan, warm air is drawn into the machine and flows towards a cooled coil that condenses the humidity into liquid form. The liquid is then sterilized by ultraviolet rays to kill harmful bacteria. Afterwards, a filtration system is used to eliminate the solid particles from the water and the liquid is held in a storage tank. The quantity of water generated is dependent on the relative humidity and temperature of the surrounding air.

Below are different product components and their characteristics:

Microcomputer board control
Electronic sensor Like-ultraviolet rays, heating apparatus sensors, humidity sensors and ice water sensors.

Energy Conservation
The electronic sensor is installed in water tanks to save electric power. The unit will stop generating water when the sensor will sense that the tank is filled up to the desired level and stop heating or refrigeration when the hot or cold water is reached to the set temperature.

Safety control system and Ease of Use
  1. Child safety lock.
  2. Water leakage detector: When leakage happens, it will cut off the power automatically
  3. Condensing coil: The spray finishing of food grade to prevent metallic pollution and improve the working efficiency of water production.
  4. Silver ion filter screen: It can prevent the harmful bacteria, dust, silt and other floaters from entering the machine.
  5. Ultraviolet sterilization treatment
  6. Ozone germicidal treatment
  7. Water circulation system: It disinfects the storage water periodically and carries out the RO filtration treatment again to ensure the bacteria free water.
  8. Pulley design: The machine is easy to move, you can move it anywhere.
  9. Choose a removable filter, more convenient for replacement and maintain multistage filtration system.
Where to Use
This machine is used in outdoor areas, parks, gardens, offices, supermarkets, bookstores, automobile shops for the drinking purpose so that the air around could be transformed into potable water

Thus, we can come to the conclusion that Watermill is one of the most important and useful inventions from scientists that can provide us with the life-saving gift of nature i.e. water, alternatively in the most efficient and economical way.

Israel's formidable contribution to world technology

Israel is a country best known for its conflict with Palestine, but there’s much more to the country than war and religious hostilities. Israel’s contribution in the world of technology has been immense and for some reason grossly understated.

Intel Pentium and Celeron computer processor chips from personal computers (desktops, laptops and notebooks) as these were either developed or manufactured in Israel. Intel also invests in new research MICA, its new electronic trendy wrist gadget, has been developed in Israel and is soon to hit shops around the globe.

Note that the revolutionary new Ivy Bridge processor will be manufactured in Israel. Windows XT operating system was developed in Israel. All current Microsoft operating systems are heavily reliant on its Israel R&D Centre. It should also be noted that a significant of the Business Intelligence surrounding the ‘Cortana’ element in Windows 10 was developed in Israel.

Anti-virus software and personal firewalls originated in Israel. The algorithm (code) that’s used today for sending e-mails was made by an Israeli who worked at the Ben-Gurion University in Be’er-Sheva in 1980.

Mobile phones, as this technology was developed in Israel, where the first mobile phones were manufactured. Mobile chip technology from a single Israeli company has now been installed in over 100 million devices. However the use of SMS (Texting) facility was developed in Israel.  4G devices can be used, as the chipset is Israeli. Israeli companies invented the voice-mail system

Facebook has many in-built and add-on applications that are Israeli-developed. Do watch videos on the Internet as the platform used to upload them may be from AOL and hence from an Israeli company. Books using an e-book as this may contain Israeli technology.

First data storage usb device was from SanDisk and was developed at Israel’s storage technology R&D center.

Diabetes – measure or inject Insulin using the devices developed by Israeli scientists.
Dyslexics benefits from the Israeli Internet-based reading system.
Colonoscopy or gastro investigation does use internal Israeli cameras such as the Pillcam. The first artificial heart transplant took place in Israel.

Finally, all major dental treatment, as your teeth may need to be scanned with an Israeli-developed dental scanner.

Many credit or debit card has the Security monitoring system used by the credit card companies is likely to be Israeli. There is a lot more contributions from this Jewish country. We should be thankful to the great minds of Israel for making our life simpler.

How does Data Mining help in Predictive Analysis?

Data mining is defined as shifting through very large amounts of data for useful information. Some of the most important and popular data mining techniques are association rules, classification, clustering, prediction and sequential patterns. Data mining techniques are used for a  variety of applications.

Data Mining is the process of extracting hidden knowledge from large volumes of raw data. The knowledge must be new, not obvious, and one must be able to use it. Data mining has been defined as the nontrivial extraction of previously unknown, implicit and potentially useful information from data. It is “the science of extracting useful information from large databases”. It is one of the tasks in the process of knowledge discovery from the database.

The actual data mining task is the automatic or semi-automatic analysis of large quantities of data to extract previously unknown interesting patterns such as groups of data records (cluster analysis), unusual records (anomaly detection) and dependencies (association rule mining). These patterns can then be seen as a kind of summary of the input data, and may be used in further analysis or, for example, in machine learning and predictive analytics. For example, the data mining step might identify multiple groups in the data, which can then be used to obtain more accurate prediction results by a decision support system. In the health-care industry, data mining plays an important role in predicting diseases. For detecting a disease number of tests should be required from the patient. But using data mining technique the number of tests should be reduced. This reduced test plays an important role in time and performance.

Data Mining is used to discover knowledge out of data and presenting it in a form that is easily understand to humans. It is a process to examine large amounts of data routinely collected. Data mining is most useful in an exploratory analysis because of nontrivial information in large volumes of data. It is a cooperative effort of humans and computers. Best results are achieved by balancing the knowledge of human experts in describing problems and goals with the search capabilities of computers.

How to play Counter Strike 1.6 on an Android device?

It’s been 13 years since Counter-Strike dominated the PC gaming parlours and the gaming freaks out there. Well, here is a good news that now you can play Counter Strike 1.6 on your Android device. All thanks to the mighty programmer Alibek Omarov who has expertise in making old PC games run on Android.

You need to have 3 pre-requisites in order to play it:
  1. A Steam account
  2. The APK file
  3. Xash3D
Steps to install the set up of Counter-Strike 13 on your Android device:
  1. Install the APK(with  omp postfix if you have a multi-core device, noomp if you have a single-core device).
  2. Install the latest Xash3D Android from GitHub
  3. Copy Cstrike and valve folders from your Steam CS1.6 installation to xash folder on SDCard
  4. Run CS16Client

Do not expect the same gaming experience of a PC version as there about 21 buttons like reload, jump, shoot , crouch etc. Also, be prepared for some noticeable video stuttering and lags while playing. But that does not undermine the magnificent accomplishment of Omarov. It also paves the way for more of our beloved games that could be played on Android in the future.

Brain like Chip, soon to be a reality

“The human brain, sitting on your shoulders is the most complicated object in the known universe”

Throughout history, people have compared the brain to different inventions. In the past, the brain has been said to be like a water clock and a telephone switchboard. This is hard to imagine, but it is what it is. But, these days, the favorite invention that the brain is compared to a computer. Some people use this comparison to say that the computer is better than the brain; some people say that the comparison shows that the brain is better than the computer. Perhaps, it is best to say that the brain is better at doing some jobs and the computer is better at doing other jobs.

All photos in this article are credits: research.ibm.com
The era, where we can color hair according to our mood, by using nanotechnology (nanorobots) thinking about a brain like chip is no big deal . By 2020, most home computers will have the computing power of a human brain. That doesn't mean that they are brains, but it means that in terms of raw processing, they can process bits as fast as a brain can.

So the question here arises is, how long is it going to take for the development of a machine that's as smart as we are?  Well the good news is that we don’t have to wait any further for this now because man has already initiated his first step towards this dream project.

The year 2014 ended with a surprise. In the month of August,2014 IBM said it used  conventional silicon manufacturing techniques to create what it calls a neurosynaptic processor that could rival a traditional supercomputer by handling highly complex computations while consuming no more power than that supplied by a typical hearing aid battery .The chip is also one of the biggest ever built, boasting some 5.4 billion transistors, which is about a billion more than the number of transistors on an Intel Xeon chip. To do this, researchers designed the chip with a mesh network of 4,096 neurosynaptic cores. Each core contains elements that handle computing, memory and communicating with other parts of the chip. Each core operates in parallel with the others.

The human brain has a “clock speed” (neuron firing speed) measured in tens of hertz, and a total power consumption of around 20 watts. A  modern silicon chip, despite having features that are almost on the same tiny scale as biological neurons and synapses, can consume thousands or millions times more energy to perform the same task as a human brain. As we move towards more advanced areas of computing, such as artificial general intelligence and big data analysis — areas that IBM just happens to be deeply involved with — it would really help if we had a silicon chip that was capable of brain-like efficiency.

The chip would seem to represent a breakthrough in one of the long-term problems in computing: Computers are really good at doing math and reading words, but discerning and understanding meaning and context, or recognizing and classifying objects — things that are easy for humans — have been difficult for traditional computers. One way IBM tested the chip was to see if it could detect people, cars, trucks and buses in video footage and correctly recognize them. It worked.

In terms of complexity, the True North chip has a million neurons, which is about the same number as in the brain of a common honeybee. A typical human brain averages 100 billion. But given time, the technology could be used to build computers that can not only see and hear, but understand what is going on around them. Currently, the chip is capable of 46 billion synaptic operations per second per watt, or SOPS. That’s a tricky apples-to-oranges comparison to a traditional supercomputer, where performance is measured in the number of floating point operations per second, or FLOPS. But the most energy-efficient supercomputer now running tops out at 4.5 billion FLOPS.

Down the road, the researchers say in their paper, they foresee TrueNorth-like chips being combined with traditional systems, each solving problems it is best suited to handle. But it also means that systems that in some ways will rival the capabilities of current supercomputers will fit into a machine the size of your Smartphone, while consuming even less energy.

The project was funded with money from  the Department of Defense’s research organization. IBM collaborated with researchers at Cornell Tech and iniLabs. With TrueNorth’s truly novel architecture, that changes — with TrueNorth, IBM is now a big step closer to building a brain on a chip, and that could be big news for the future of computing.

Micromax launching 19 products in a single day: Guts or Nuts?

It takes guts to launch 19 products in a single day and Micromax did it on 13th April 2016. Usually, companies launch products in the iteration to test the viability and response of individual products and then launch their next products. While some people may feel that they have got insane, there is a justification from Micromax unveiling the aggressive 5 point business strategy for the next 5 years.

Micromax has set the below targets for them to achieve:
  1. To be the biggest services company in India.
  2. To be a full consumer electronics company.
  3. To be the fastest growing brand in India for Electronics.
  4. Leveraging the Make in India initiative.
  5. Put out a new daring brand philosophy.
While these points may appear to be highly optimistic for some people, the point to be noted is a lot of renowned Technology companies in the Western Countries have followed related strategies. Chinese company Xiaomi has attained an astonishing rate of success following its world class hardware with market killer prices

In India, Micromax has been the player to provide decent hardware cutting the prices and was the first brand to build  sustainable smartphones under the range of Rs. 10,000. Last year Micromax YU changed the landscape of the Indian smartphones when it comes to pricing and excellent specifications.

But targeting world class features within the price range of an average Indian consumer would certainly be a challenge for any company. Let’s hope that it gets achieved and the consumers are flooded with awesome gadgets with pocket-friendly prices.
