Why Indra Nooyi is the called the most generous Alumni Donor for Yale School of Management

‘Indra Nooyi’, the CEO of PepsiCo who graduated from the Yale School of Management in 1980 becomes the largest benefactor alumni donor to ‘Yale School of Management’ considering the lifetime amount of donations that she has made to her Alma Mater.

The amount of money is not being disclosed by the Institution, but they have attributed her as the most generous donor and endowed with the gift of Deanship along with the inauguration of an Innovation Fund. With this, she also becomes the first Woman dean of a Business School which has a global stature and ranks amongst the top of the Premiere league of institutions worldwide.

‘Indra Nooyi’ has already been ranked as the 2nd most powerful and influential woman in the world by Forbes. She has stood as an inspiration for women across the world to succeed globally and head an organisation which is present globally. Also she has proved that people can step the ladders of success at a global level irrespective of their Nationalities, Race or Gender.

“My gift to this wonderful institution pales in comparison with the gift that Yale gave me—the fundamental understanding that leadership requires an expansive worldview and a deep appreciation of the many points of intersection between business and society,” as said by her in a statement.

She also serves as a member of the boards of US-China Business Council, US-India Business Council, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Tsinghua University, foundation Board of the World Economic Forum, the  American Academy of Arts & Sciences and the US-India CEO Forum.

Yale University president ‘Peter Salovey’ added that "The Yale School of Management community has long been proud of Indra Nooyi's accomplishments and her generous support will enable us to pursue new opportunities and initiatives, in keeping with the spirit of innovation that has always been a hallmark of Yale SOM."
