How the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) acts as a platform for Next-Gen Innovators

The CES or the consumer electronics show owned by Consumer Technology Association (CTA) is an international platform which showcases the next generation innovations which will be brought to the marketplace in the recent future. It is an annual show which is held usually in the month of January at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It an electronic trade show that provides a ground to the innovators to bring up and display their technology to the global market. It is a place for all the world business technologies to gather and attract a wide variety of companies and top business leaders and icons from all across the globe. The consumer electronics show is not open to the public. Every year this consumer technology show displays previews of various products and also announces the latest technologies or gadgets that would be introduced very soon in the market.

The CES showcases more than 3600 exhibiting companies, thousands of companies display their own products in this show and a preview/introduction of the next generation products are also displayed. This concept of consumer electronics show is quite different and fresh every time and it shows how the world will be in the future and how times are changing in terms of technological advancement. The developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of the product are present in this show to introduce their product. The first consumer electronics show took place in June 1967 in the New York City. The CES 2010 had attracted more than 120,000 attendees and was held from January 7-10, 2010. The Intel Infoscape run on Intel Core i7 was one of the major highlights. The CES 2011 had about 128,949 attendees and many tablets like Motorola Xoom was introduced. The CES 2012 was held from January 8 to 13, 2012 attracting more than 153,000 attendees. In CES 2013 more than 3000 exhibitors showcased their products including embedded systems, audio, automotive parts, wireless devices, and accessories. In CES 2014 the first Li-Fi smartphone was disclosed in this year. The CES 2015 attracted more than 170,000 attendees and about 3600 exhibitors. Smart watches, robots were showcased in this year. The CES 2016 was held from January 6 to January 9, 2016, in Las Vegas showcasing many next-generation technologies including smart shoes and many other products.

This show has changed the world to a great extent in terms of technology and the world has gradually become smaller as time is passing. The CES provides an excellent opportunity for the newer tech industries to enter the global market and compete with other tech industries through their display of products. The day is not far when the world will be completely digitized and its effects will reach into every corner of our lives.
