Uttar Pradesh is viewed as one of the fastest developing states in India. It is also one of the largest tourist destinations in the country. Not only is the state rich in resources but also it has efficiently and judiciously utilized those resources to serve their citizens better. The state has witnessed a huge development and has grown by leaps and bounds under the regime of Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Various measures have been taken by the present government to uplift the people of the state. This, in turn, would not only help the people but also it would add up and promote state growth and development.
The government of Uttar Pradesh has adopted various policies to take the state to greater heights. These policies and efforts have been developed keeping in mind all the sectors of their economy. Until each and every sector is developed and well equipped, no state would be considered as a well-progressing state. The steps undertaken by the government are on a 360-degree basis. The various sectors on which the government is currently working include the rural and the urban sector, social and economic developments, industrial progress including the IT sector and other business sectors.
Uttar Pradesh has a huge contribution towards all business sectors. It has a large number of industries including textile, steel plant, refineries, machineries, electronic and telecommunication . The state government also plays a huge role in promoting the small and medium scale industries. Educational facilities have been introduced so that the children of the poor sections of the society receive the basic level of education. Medical facilities and mobile medical units have been provided that provides free health checkups to the weaker section people. Recently, the foundation stone has been laid in Ballia for developing a power station, a University and a sports college.
In terms of social development, various old age schemes and pensions have been introduced that would help and uplift the weaker sections of the society. The registered workers who are above 60 years of age would receive a pension of Rs 1000 per month. This pension would help them to lead the later stages of their lives smoothly.
On 1st May 2016 i.e., the International Labour’s Day, the CM of Uttar Pradesh has launched a pilot project for the benefit of workers. Under this project, the labourers working at the government construction sites would be provided with highly nutritious mid-day meals at a subsidized rate of Rs 10. The lunch that will be provided to the workers will not only be at a subsidized rate but also, it will be highly nutritious and healthy which will provide them the adequate nutrients. Also, on the same day, the CM distributed over 1000 cycles to the working labourers.
Although the CM wanted to provide the mid-day meal free of cost, but this was not possible. However, in the upcoming years, it is believed that the mid-day meal would be provided free of cost. This project has been introduced in Lucknow but very soon many other districts would also be benefited from this scheme. The CM also mentioned that the Samajwadi party has distributed the highest number of cycles till date, the number has already surpassed the count of 4 lakhs and continues to increase . Also, 5 lakh women have been provided with pensions which are being directly credited into their own accounts.
The involvement of Akhilesh Yadav directly with the rural people helps a lot in the state development activities and boosts the morale of people. A few days back, the CM had an interaction with the villagers who had received the Samajwadi pension and got feedback from them. This feedback, in turn, would help the CM to think of the state from the point of view of the citizens. If the current UP government continues working efficiently and pushing efforts towards the upliftment of the rural people, then that day is not far when Uttar Pradesh will be one of the most advanced states in India.
