Essentials Checklist for Travellers

They say the "world is a book and those who don’t travel read only one page". It is one of the most soul purifying things. Trapped in one place for the rest of your life restricts your vision and understanding of the world.  No matter how many books you read, documentaries you watch, the first-hand experience will still be missing if you don’t spread your wings and fly from time to time.

A whole year of trouble, problems, failure, achievements, etc becomes unbearable after a point of time. No matter how much you love your job, you need a break to explore the world you’re living in. Summer vacation, in that case, becomes a reason to say bye to work and hello to adventures.

Ideally, your journey begins with packing. Although all you need for a fun-filled trip is open-mindedness and eagerness, there are certain materialistic things which will make your experience even more soothing and trouble free. Let’s tally our list of essential items and make sure we’re not missing anything of prime importance.

1. Travel Document Organizer

In the rush to get to the airport on time and making sure you have all you will need for the trip, it is a common thing to look over the documents which are of prime importance.

Your passport, credit/debit cards, a copy of flight itinerary and post-arrival arrangements printouts. Since it is a crazy task to assemble everything, make it point to buy a travel document organizer.

It will make your life super easy because you wouldn’t have to rummage through your travel bag to get these items. They would be neatly arranged and ready for use. This small bag is easy to carry and would not take much of your space.

2. On-Flight Requisites

Travelling via flight means a lot of free time in hand and you sure as hell can’t pass it away by simply looking out the window or sleeping. Make it a point to carry the equipment which will keep you occupied and entertained.

A bibliophile should have a book or Kindle. Along with that, having good music cures boredom pretty fast. Carrying your own pillow and a mini blanket (during long flights) will bring you a huge amount of joy and relief. Also, to have a better experience, you can carry travel books and guides of your destination. It will give you a head start to know and understand the place you’ve chosen to spend your holidays in.

3. Less The Weight More The fun

Travelling with only important items will be the best decision. Ignore all the maybe and what-if items. It is ideal to carry an extra pair of clothes but do not make it more than three or four.

Similarly, having unnecessary items in your bag will work as a hurdle! Have a dress for the special occasion but that’s about it.

Make sure you carry a foldable bag. It might come handy when your bag is overflowing with clothing items and souvenirs on your way back home.

4. First-Aid Kit Along With Bathroom Essentials

Since you can’t foresee your journey, it’s always advisable to be cautious beforehand.

Carry a small first-aid kit that includes bandages, adhesives, painkillers, and fever medicines. Pack up sunscreen if you’re travelling to place where you will be exposed to sunlight. If mountains are on your list, make it a point to carry moisturizers and cold-sore throat medicines.

As for the bathroom essentials, do not go overboard with different types of beauty products. Stick to essential ones: toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, shampoo and hygiene products.

Keep scissors and tweezers in the check in baggage to avoid any security issues before boarding a flight.

5. Carry-on Bags

It is advisable to pack your valuable items in the carry-on bags and have them with you all the time.

Jewellery, money, travel document organizer, phone, camera etc should not be a part of your check-in baggage.

Also, this carry-on bag could later be used while exploring the city and it will give you some amount of satisfaction that you have all the important items with you.

Throwing in some basic items like comb, lip balm and moisturisers will be equally helpful.

Keep these small suggestions in mind and you will not face any problem while boarding a flight and the journey afterward!
