Indian Politicians who are really Fashion savvy

Fashion, in today’s time, is not simply restricted to the ramp or glamorous industry. It is surely knocking on the door of politics, too. Since presenting oneself in the best possible way earns quite a lot of brownie points, our leaders are also taking it with acute seriousness. From the Prime minister of our country to the cabinet ministers, everyone understands the importance of looking presentable. Here are five all-time fashion savvy politicians of our country.

1. Narendra Modi

The current Prime Minister of India is, by far, one of the well-dressed political figures. Be it his simple yet classy accessories(Bvlagri frames for his spectacles, an expensive Movado watch and Mont Blanc pens) or his famous  half-sleeve kurtas that he pairs with churidaars, Modi knows how to carry them. While touring the world or playing host, Modi’s tailored black suits, burgundy bandhgalas and trademark kurtas have always managed to steal the show. Apart from that, Modi also tried the traditional wear of the countries he visits and, mind you, he pulls them off like it’s a daily routine for him. Mongolian robe, patterned suit, holy look while visiting Pashupati Temple in Nepal, the fourteenth Prime Minister of India has tried them all without a glitch in his step.

2. Navjot Singh Sidhu

A Former cricketer, present commentator, TV personality and politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu is certainly a well-known face. His impeccable knowledge and cricket experience blended with witty and spontaneous quotes makes him more likeable, if possible. Along with that, this prominent politician’s dressing sense is certainly faultless.

While he was on a reality show, hosted by Salman Khan, Sidhu made it a point to dress well and was never seen in dull, shabby clothes. The Pathanis he worn in the show were definitely appealing.

His colourful turbans with matching ties and wrinkle-free suits have, often, been admired by many. It’s hard to imagine this popular figure in anything but elegant attires and his confidence.

3. Omar Abdullah

He became the 11th and the youngest Chief Minister of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. He has inherited title and good looks from his family along with royal elegance and grace. His immaculate dressing sense might be the reason he got to put his best face on for the cover of GQ, a men’s lifestyle magazine, making him first Indian politician to do that and his impressive leadership qualities, of course.

His dressing sense is western with a hint of Kashmiri heritage which only add more charm to his already charismatic personality. Be it head to toe traditional or western, he can carry it without any qualms. Along with all that, he was also a part of Bollywood film Istanbul where he played a small yet meaningful role.

4. Hema Malini

Bollywood and Politics go hand in hand. We have often seen Bollywood stars trying their luck as leaders of our country. Hema Malini, too, happens to be one of them.

When she stepped in the field of politics, she brought in the glamour of the film industry.

She has been seen wearing the party’s ideology on her saree, redefining the political attire. With her simple yet vibrant colour attires and jewellery, Hema Malini has surely stepped aside from the usual, predictable and rather dull clothes politicians prefer.

5. Brinda Karat

She is one of the most well-known, highly admired and absolutely sophisticated personalities you would ever come across. Her fierceness has surely left a lot of people speechless and this Bengali woman has gained a lot of fame, both, in India and overseas. What makes her stand out from the lot is her dressing sense. Karat’s trademark bindi on her forehead became a fashion symbol.

Her simple yet sophisticated cotton saree has definitely served more purpose than one. Apart from the fact that it is easy to carry, this saree represents her Bengali roots and bring her closer to the people. She completes her look with silver jewellery and no makeup.

This effortless Indian look has definitely made her a centre of attraction and admiration a lot of times. She ended up tenth in a survey conducted to find out 10 Most Glamorous Women Politicians of The World.
