If you are an Indian student belonging to a middle-class family, life is not at all simple for you. It has never been so, and I do acknowledge the fact. It so happens, that while we are growing up, there is a constant pressure on us, to achieve one thing after another. Our parents, who undoubtedly think in our best interests keep motivating, or in some other cases, pressurizing their children to do great, first during the tenth board examinations, then for +2 examinations, and later for getting admissions into a reputed college of their choice.
This is the part of the story that almost all of us know. But what is a matter of great concern, with more number of students today opting for a career in Engineering, is the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) statement, stating that almost 87% Indian engineering graduates are unemployable.
Surprising? You must be wondering. However, it is not. In the recent years, If you look around for development across the globe, unfortunately, you will see that we are lagging a lot in the race. And do you want to know the reason? Well, there are a lot.
And most importantly, The curriculum and the education system needs to be revamped, in a manner that is suitable for all. Because ultimately, if you judge a fish on its capability to climb a tree, you are doing no good to anyone.
The problems in the world are huge, and therefore, now is the time that we start introducing the solutions.

It will come as a surprise to many people, but even then it is a fact that most graduates today, despite being from a well-educated society, cannot do a full- fledged English conversation. Now, I do not say that it undermines someone’s potential or talents, but in a generation of globalization, English-speaking has become a mandatory skill.2.
Another factor could be the obsolete education system that we have. Now, it may sound hysterical, but the fact remains that the current system favors those who can mug up subjects and reproduce it, rather than the ones who are actually intelligent or possess some extra talents.3.
Soft skills. Most of the people might not even know their meaning, let alone their importance. Despite a realization by many colleges and universities about how they are important for the overall development of a student, all the efforts made till date to promote them at various levels, have proved futile, mostly because of the involvement of people from political and influential backgrounds in educational institutions.
Keeping these things in mind, and several other factors which form an endless list, the big question that we face is, What do we need to do.
To begin with, We need to create more problem solvers and solution providers than the trouble makers. For instance, most of the times, the backbenchers of a class are labeled as a group of worthless people by the teachers. However, if initiatives are taken to develop their boldness and qualities in a constructive manner, a lot of problems can be solved. It is also very important to let the students develop their leadership quality, communication skills, social quotient, aptitude and practical vocational skills (to name a few) so that they can form a good image when they go on to represent our country at various platforms in the future.And most importantly, The curriculum and the education system needs to be revamped, in a manner that is suitable for all.
