5 Best Natural Ways To Get Rid of Menstrual Cramps

It is that time of the month and Aunt Flow is in full force. The monster menstrual cramps just won’t let up, making everything unbearable for you. Not all menstrual cramps are the same; some are so bad they could make you cry out like anything. Some are just the passing ones that could be tolerated. And some are so excruciating that you feel like you are dying. Well, talking to a physician is the best way to gauge one’s condition as there could be some serious matter attached with it.

But if you are not suffering from any severe medical condition or the pain hasn’t broken the barometer, there are several ways to get relieved of them. Well, for starters, taking an over the counter pill is fine but you should avoid it.

The following ways to relieve the pain are just as effective as the medications with little to no side effects; after all, they are natural means:

#1. Ginger –

One of the most effective ways to get rid of these cramps is Ginger. It has antioxidant qualities that help in relieving theses pains. Have a cup full of water and boil it. Add some scraps and bits of ginger in it. Don’t overdo it as it could heat up your insides and could be harmful. Have a mild quantity and boil it for 5 minutes. Keep a look at it so that the whole water doesn’t end up evaporating. You can add a teaspoon of sugar to have a variation in taste. Drink this thrice in a day and you will get dramatic positive effects. It’s a tried and tested rule. Try it, it’ll help!

#2. Warm Water –

Our body is strung tight during menstruation. We aren’t able to properly get relaxed. Warm water soothes our muscles and helps in loosening them. Take a bath with bearable hot water. You won’t only feel just fresh and relaxed but also it will ease up your pain.

#3. Walking –

We don’t like to walk around during our periods, rather we like to lie on the bed and just rest it out. Resting is necessary, of course, but taking a walk is equally important. Walking helps in relaxing your muscles along with aiding in the blood flow. The better blood flow you have during menstruation, the better you feel. Don’t overtax yourself. Keep a steady pace and have a walk to ease your body.

#4. Food –

A proper diet is another important aspect in relieving pain. Avoid salt in your diet during your menstruation as it bloats you. Do use dairy products like curd but do not consume milk. Chocolates, pizza, et al are our first thought to indulge in but they could be harmful to your body and could further deteriorate your mood. The healthier your diet is the better your body and you will feel.

#5. Heat –

Keep a heating pad or have a massage on the area where you are having the cramps. Heat helps in relieving the pain and you will feel a lot better.

Try out these natural remedies this time when having menstruation cramps and help your body and yourself.
