India's Perception Towards Different Sexualities

In our country, it is frowned upon to talk about sex. Anything related to sex is something that we shouldn’t discuss or whisper about. Being the citizen of a country, which is in the competition to hog the #1 place in the population run, it seems to be a strange thing, for sure! A place where ‘Kamasutra’ originated from, it is considered a taboo.

But it is not just limited to talking about sex, it is everything related to sex. Sexuality, in general, is more of a straight all over the world, being heterosexual. But sexuality isn’t limited to only this. Homosexual, Demisexual, Bisexual, Pansexual, Asexual and many other sexual orientations are all part of one group only, the sexuality of an individual.

No one wants to be different or frowned upon or looked down on rather one wish to be a part of the whole community, to belong, to be a part of what all is and be safe. And it is an individual’s choice and no one else’s what one wants to be, and what their body, mind and heart desires.

As long as the whole sex thing is consensual, between adults and safe, it is up to those individuals that are into the act. We are into a country where from ancient times, things have happened which we frown upon now. For instance, males have dressed as females, lord Krishna played a girl to allure the others. If we can understand that and respect it, why not the diversities in every manner and possibility. Why not just respect each other and what one wishes and wants.

There's is no one who wants to be different (although we all are same body, mind and heart), but people are who they are- gay, lesbians, bisexuals or just about anything under the sky. Is it in us to become and transform into just about anything... If it has been so, all should have been on the path to profoundness, integrity, only positivity, love and caring for everything and toward anything.

Isn't it what everyone want others to be? But are we?

No, we are what we are!

Whom to love and indulge with is an individual's prerogative and no one's bloody business. But being a part of the society we have to conform to its rules and regulation, however frivolous and conceited they are. It is a shame that when we want to do and be what we want, and in the same breadth won't allow the same to others. Does it really matter what others want you to be when your heart knows what it is? You just can't help it, and if you end up going against it, you are just one bloody hell of a mess! It is a reality, what we all know and applies with us but never with others. Why not? Why don't we consider the same rule for others, what we want for our own freaking self?

Let's love others for what they are, for their character, not something as silly as someone's sexuality or their preference to be someone. Let's love and live and let other's do the same!
