International Women’s Day: Why do we need more Women Entrepreneurs?

March 8th is celebrated as the International Women’s Day globally to show love and appreciation towards the women’s social, economic and political achievements. Women all over the globe have attained remarkable milestones in every possible field. CEO’s like Indra Nooyi, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Chanda Kochhar are definitely an inspiration for all the aspiring and dedicated women out there.

Every day is International Women’s Day
StartUps being the new buzzword globally, many Women Entrepreneurs have entered this risky zone as well. Below are some of the names which have marked their ways to Success:

  1. Anisha Singh: Co-Founder of MyDala.
  2. Ankita Tandon: Co-Founder of CouponDunia.
  3. Arpita Ganesh: Founder of ButterCups.
  4. Falguni Nayar: Founder of Nykaa.
  5. Swati Bhargava: Co-Founder of CashKaro.
Although the list has got more creative and innovative leaders, the ratio of male to female entrepreneurs is still skewed in India as well as internationally.

StartUp ideas originate usually from the paint points of people and it certainly becomes very important that Women do build their own companies so that the pain points of fellow women can be catered well.

When it comes to women empowerment and allied causes, Women can have a better perspective of the conditions relevant to that as compared to men.

Also, if the leadership has a team of Co-Founders, then having, at least, one Woman would help you address the issues of your future women employees in a better way.

Moreover, I personally feel that women are really good in Sales and Marketing apart from the creative instincts that they possess and add up considerably to the dynamic and diverse culture of your StartUp.
