Why you shouldn’t Inherit College Education from your Parents?

It is very common for all of us, at least in India, to listen from our parents what career to pursue and also the universities or colleges where we should go. Although they may have their reasonable justifications for us to do so, but people forget that with changing times, the needs also have changed and so has the way of doing things.

“Kya Socha”, this is the most predictable  question  asked by relatives in family functions to students, without  having an in-depth knowledge of what is going on in the education sector and job market currently. But as usual, we all are accustomed to getting the  free advice from people and then comes their unwanted guidance with an imaginary expertise. The experience of 80’s -90’s in 2016 would be like asking your children to play on the old TV video games in the times of X-Box and PlayStation.

There have been rapid advancements in the education sector and demands/skills required from the corporate job market are growing rapidly. It becomes practically impossible to get a good job and kick-start your career in the right direction if you still choose the traditional ways of pursuing education. Academics only are no longer sufficient to make you an all-rounder professional with the right set of skills to sustain and prosper in the highly competitive corporate world.

I came across a video on Youtube about LPU and was really impressed with the facilities that they have on their campus. These includes advanced computer labs, sports grounds and related activities, presentation rooms, interaction with highly acclaimed successful people in their large seminar halls, and much more. These can be really detrimental to shaping the personality, career prospects, and the future of students.

It also depicts a story of how different decisions taken by two people at the same point of their lives impacts their future drastically. It ultimately encourages you to #thinkBIG, take risks, and achieve the success you desire and deserve.
