Toyota Platinum Etios - A Car for your Family

With the rising urban population and the income levels, there has been an astonishing increase in the purchasing  power of the consumers. This is directly proportional to an increase in the number of people who own vehicles and many are planning in the near future. However, the Indian Market is quite different from the rest of the world. Budget cars which have low ownership cost, larger cabin, and luggage space, comfort for the entire family, are some of the key considerations for the Indian car buyers. Toyota, which is one of  the world's most established automobile brands has been taking the Indian Market seriously and have launched a series of models on the same lines in the past few years.
Their latest entrant being the Brand New Platinum Etios.

Although the new variant has a lot of advanced features as compared to the predecessors, the main emphasis here has been kept on the safety. The Platinum Etios comes with dual front airbags and Anti-Brake Locking System (ABS) along with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) across all the variants, Toyota being the first player in the industry to standardize such features across all grades. All the 5 seats come with 3 point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) and pre-tensioner force limiter seat-belts for the front. The rear seats now have an ISOFIX child seat mounts for superior safety.

When it comes to design and interiors, the new Platinum Etios has undergone a comprehensive facelift. It looks fabulous having the new v-shaped grille with chrome outlines and round fog lamps. The bumper now includes larger black colored areas giving it a more attractive look as compared to the previous variants. At the rear, Toyota has tweaked the tail-lamps and the bumper has been re-profiled. The interiors now come with a new Optitron Combimeter with Illumination Control, power-operated ORVMs, steering-mounted audio controls, height adjustable driver seats, black and ivory colored dashboard, new ivory fabric seats of high quality, foldable rear seats and a rear armrest.

The *Ex-showroom Mumbai prices range from INR 6,43,000 to INR 7,83,000 for the petrol variant (mileage is 16.78 kmpl*) and INR 7,56,000 to INR 8,87,000 for the diesel variant (mileage is 23.59 kmpl*). Looking at the overall specifications and features, the new Platinum Etios can certainly be called as the Best in Class Sedan in the given price range.

Global NCAP, the world's most trusted authority for safety evaluation, research and conducting crash-test assessments of cars, has awarded the Made in India Toyota Etios series a rating of 4 out of 5. No other car in this segment has been able to bag this prestigious safety award. Also, J. D. Power, which studies and measures the problems faced by the original car owners of 30 to 42 old month vehicles across 169 symptoms in 9 different categories, had declared Toyota Etios as the Most Dependable Sedan in the Entry Mid-Size segment for 2015.

Indians, right since their childhood, are being taught to the imbibe the culture of Family First. Looking at this TVC reminded me of the same thing again. And with this new variant, Toyota has been successful in creating a car which has all the ingredients of safety, quality, comfort, and dependability to become your new family member.
