3 Pros and Cons of Being an Employee

We all start with the kind of jobs where we get ready and go to the office and punch the card at the gate and sit in our respective places and do the small things while waiting for the coffee or tea. By the time the coffee or tea reaches you, it will be already 10:30 am, then you have to spend time till 12:50 pm so that you can go for lunch and be back by 2 pm. Which includes the small time for lunch and most time for talking about this and that. Then we settle down on the table with some work till then another round of coffee arrives at 3:30 or 4 pm. Then comes the wait to go back home, when it's 6 pm.

Feasibility of Unity in the Great Indian Diversity

Recently a friend asked for an academic opinion on the idea of regulated diversity as a feature of the Great Indian "Unity in Diversity". I laughed and said the idea is flawed at its inception.

Politics And Today's Indian Youth, Lacking in Zeal

“Politics is everywhere”

Yes, politics is everywhere. It is an undeniable fact. Politics is an integral part of human society. We are dependent as well as independent. But it depends upon our perspectives. According to me, we are independently dependent. However, here my intention is not to create controversies. Although politics is a universal term, I want to highlight today’s youths’ spirit of nurturing political consciousness in the context of India.

Sugarcane: Sweet or Bitter?

If we take a glance at this year’s monsoon, we would perceive that God has poured love on us through ample amount of rain. The reports say that it was more than last few years. The government claims that it has taken serious steps to store the water. Now, we will be able to use water at least until July 2017. At present, we are quite relaxed that the next summer would be pleasant. But there are chances of repetition of the situations we faced this year.

Is it Time Yet for the Empowerment of Masses?

When we speak of history, we are always enchanted by the political maneuvers of the kings and queens. I remember in our history texts there used to be a paragraph on social history. That generalized the social norms of the period but rarely accounted for individuals. The mass has always been identified as the "mass". There has been a very little identification of the masses except as followers or subject of other leaders. This is what motivates people to step-up in their professional sphere to make a name for themselves.

However, do we really figure in this scheme of corporate enslavement at all?

How to See Through Sectarianism to Avoid Manipulative Politics?

Man is a social animal. As human beings, because of our sentient nature, we have often considered ourselves special. Our intelligence creates divisions within ourselves. Animals, at best, can separate themselves from another group of similar animals by their leaders. We separate ourselves from another human measuring ourselves on a plethora of yardsticks. Our whole life is based on individualism. Our communitarian thoughts are bred on individual ideals. Individualism separates us from all other animals.

Why are the Hearts suddenly so difficult?

Imagine you are a trader. Your resources are sourced from your country and you are quite popular as a trading concern there. In fact, imagine you are like Colgate in the world of toothpaste in your own country. Having regard to your growing popularity amongst people across the border, you decide to extend your franchises to places across the border. The people in the neighbouring country, who appreciated your product earlier, are thankful for this decision and others also started welcoming the variety.

Suddenly one day, both the countries get into a tussle. There are blame games and before you know it, you are an enemy alien. You have a factory on lease and you have contracts for supplies. You are no longer permitted to trade in the country as decided by the merchants’ guild. Your dealers decide not to sell your products further. You cut your losses and you withdraw your franchises. The suppliers and exclusive dealers who had taken delivery immediately before the turmoil are now unable to market an entire shipment of goods and face a loss of millions.

What do you think is the problem here?
