Reservation is keeping alive Caste System in India

Reservation- A threat to Democracy of our country. Reservation was introduced at the time of Independence with a purpose to provide equality between backward and other people. It was decided to put reservation in action for 10 years only but with time it continued to survive and still exist after 69 years of Independence.

Reservation distinguishes people on basis of caste. Earlier, a majority of people belonging to particular caste or community used to carry the same kind of work, making that caste financially weaker, unable to afford basic requirements. So government decided to help them at that time. Nowadays the world is growing at faster rate and India too but existence of Reservation has weakened the growth. Providing reservation to a specific community or caste abolish equality. As everyone is equal in eyes of law, so there should exist no factor which obstructs in path of existence of successful democracy.

Reservation provides quota to SC/ST and other tribes in many fields like government jobs, admission in good colleges etc. It was required in 1947 as Indians were in pity condition, especially backward tribe people. But with time people are capable enough to give and produce their income and compete with other people in any field. In a way it can be considered that to make a fair system and to make it more powerful, reservation should be eradicated. Reservation is one of major cause of corruption, so if reservation is handled carefully it will destroy corruption and some other major issues of our country. Equality and reservation can't exist together in a single system because somewhere they seem to be antonym.

Dividing people on basis of caste weaken the real strength of country. As it provides separate quota, many deserving people won't get what they deserve, also other people consider them to be weaker than them, as they have a support system to help them to reach where they are.

Reservation has a bad impact on current and future condition of the country as it creates disbelief in people for democracy. In our childhood, we had learnt that democracy provide equality and India's democracy is one of most powerful and successful democracy, but as we grow young and when we face problems because of inequality or reservation or quota, it seems to lose belief in the existence of powerful democracy in our country. When more deserving people lag behind, it appears to be a failure of democracy, failure of successful and powerful democratic country. According to a report, Indians even from IITs are practically unemployable. It is because of reservation, less deserving candidates crack tough exams as they require very fewer marks to clear those exams and got admissions in colleges they don't deserve. While deserving people go to an average college where after being more brighter than others because of improper guidance they were unable to make themselves practically employable.

In the end, I want to say that government and everyone should help to eradicate reservation from India. To make India a developed country and superpower we all must try to take flaws of Indian system out of our country and make Indian democracy as the most powerful democracy. If reservation is removed, poverty, corruption and other problems of our country can be removed easily.
