Alone or Lonely? - How do you identify

This is the world of connecting, being around hordes of people, in constant contact with each other, be it through online means or physically in touch. But it’s not always so or at least not with everyone which could be a self-inflicted one or just because. We are present in a reality where there’s a constant tug of war to be in the centre of conversation and meddling while at the same time craving the seclusion (or just left to it).

It happens often that we are surrounded by people and yet it’s only you, your emotions and your heart beating in the loud room of chaos. And then there’s a feeling when you are happy and at ease to be just with yourself.

So what is it that you are feeling, are you alone or are you lonely?

Well, there are lot of factors determining this as it is something people are usually confused about or just do not understand, let’s see it through if we are Alone or Lonely:

Lonely is not being alone, it’s the feeling that no one cares

You are lonely when there is the isolation of unreturned feelings while when you find a sense of freedom, a joy in that isolation, you are being alone.

You are alone in the moment when you smile, laugh with no reason what so ever cause you are so consumed with yourself and your emotion that you are happy not just physically but mentally too. But the state of loneliness crawls onto your flesh and creeps into your bones when you cry without any reason, without being seen.

Lonely has the noose around your neck and an ache of emptiness in your heart for which you find addictions, distractions to free or at least drag yourself away from it. Whereas being alone come from loving your own self which allows you to follow your heart and just bask in the glory of the lively, hustling-bustling reality around you.

There are composed calmness and serenity in the state of being alone where you connect with your own inner self and figure things out. Your happy, content alone self is a feeling that shows around you wants from you and pulsates the people around you. But it is the feeling of loneliness when you are dependent and look on to others for your happiness; longing and craving for something that doesn’t exist but are in the perpetual yearning for it.

Nothing in life is an end itself and there’s nothing you can’t get over, as between the lonely side to the alone, another side of the road is the path of knowing, your own self.

The time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be yourself

So, figure yourself out, reach to people and find a hobby, the joys of life as only you can make yourself feel left down or be alive, blessed and thrive.
