2016 is turning out to be a great year for the Harry Potter fandom. With the release of the new 'Harry Potter Book', and the play 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' simultaneously, the fans sure are overexcited at the moment. And now we have an even greater news, the release of the official trailer of the series prequel, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.
Based on the original story by the super-talented J.K. Rowling, the story is set in 1926, almost seven decades before the story of the boy who lived. The official trailer has raised the expectations of almost all the viewers, and we are sure waiting eagerly for the movie that is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 18th, 2016.
The movie is the first part of a trilogy and is also special because of the fact that it marks Rowling’s debut in the field of writing a screenplay for a movie. Consequently, we can also expect that the story will not be much different from what we read in the corresponding book.
The movie focuses on the adventures of "Newt" Scamander, the central character portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, who is a magi-zoologist and arrives for a meeting at the Magical Congress of the United States of America. There are a lot of twists and turns, including several magical creatures escaping from a briefcase and causing a havoc in the life of people in New York. The movie also shows the Non-Wizarding population in a completely different light, where they are actually against the wizarding world and have extremist organizations like New Salem Philanthropic society, which are dedicated to the eradication of the wizarding kind.
In an attempt to improvise the relations between the two communities, which keep getting worsened day by day because of these creatures, Scamander gets involved in a tight situation , where all the American authorities turn against him. What happens next is a mixture of a lot of confusion, violence, fear and tension, and supposedly forms the plot that will keep the viewers engaged throughout.
Just after the release of the final trailer one day before by Warner Bros. Pictures, there is a lot of thing people are looking forward to. Be it the fact that how the wizarding community of America is different from that of Britain, to how far the story would be related to the Harry Potter series, fans have a lot of concern.
It is however very important to understand that the two stories are completely along different lines, the only similarity being the inclusion of a wizarding community. The new movie will see an ensemble cast including Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton in pivotal roles.
Also, this is a story where we get to see more of the adult wizards, and also the interrelationship between the non-wizards and them.
So, on and on, while there is a lot that we will be leaving behind, there sure is a lot new that we will get to know. This should be a welcome change for the audience, besides the high voltage and heavy- budgeted action scenes which are in store.
It would be great to see if this series, will be able to rise above the benchmark set by the previous stories, and for that November 18th sure is a date that a major population of film addicts is waiting for.
