Neuroplasticity: The Science of Learning

Time after Time, the world has been progressing a lot that some of us aren’t able to keep in touch with things. Sometimes we are too indulged with career progress that we tend to forget our left out hobbies. And we give up too easily. Why is there a need to give up when there is a solution?

Recently, a research has come up from Stanford University and researchers from Australia have proved that our brains can rewire themselves. Traditional thinking of old age hits your brain badly enough to forget things need to be updated with modern research. With evidence provided by the research, it is considered that a 50-year-old can do what a 20-year-old can do. Sounds easy as it is but it’s not that easier to follow it right away. Just like Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hours rule and proverb practice makes perfect need to be applied effectively. Psychology is usually placebo effect and Neuroplasticity defines otherwise.

So what is Neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is a term for the brain’s activity to re-organize yourself. Usually, our environment and our interactions towards everything related makes us more stressed out or just leave us baffled with nothing. Our brain perceives this and tends to just keep things as a file. So Neuroplasticity acts like a PC. The brain takes the data and processes it. The end result would be different from the reality which we perceive. Neuroplasticity makes us understand that more distractions brings more disorganization or creates a mishap. Technically, Neuroplasticity is more like neural pathway assembling themselves in the brain and making sure that we don’t act deranged.

How can we improve with Neuroplasticity?

Malleability or the improvement in neuroplasticity can take place with simple steps taken in our daily routine.

Here are few methods which you can rewire your brain or enhance it to organize its own self

1. Avoid Multitasking
Multitasking provides a way of things which makes us more distracted. Procrastination leads more towards multitasking as well. Creativity tends to be limited to increase in multitasking.

2. Avoid Stress
As you may know that stress is the main negative factor where one cannot reach to their potential, it can truly damage the mental health.

3. Eat Healthy and Sleep well
Contrary to the saying “ Early to Bed and Early to Rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”.
Example: Eating food which is filled with nutrients and a 6 hours sleep would be very helpful with a healthy diet keeping the mental health stronger and healthier.

However, these are just three simple steps which one can follow. Other than that, Cognitive Exercises, Physical Exercises such as meditation or yoga or running can help too.

What made Neuroplasticity a science of focus?

ADHD, Autism, Dementia and Chronic Depression are common found psychological disorders which made a load of patients for slow learning. They found it difficult to comprehend with normal activities.

Researchers were trying to convey that brain can be organized on its own through neural pathways and it was hundreds of year later that CBT (Cognitive Behavior therapy) was developed enough to attain a certain amount of recognition in the current progress of psychology.

Approaching towards a new generation of technology and more monotony would bring more stress. There is the potential for certain disorders to be diagnosed. Meanwhile, the work life is getting more hectic. Hence, Neuroplasticity is gateway to improve Cognitive Psychology.
