Short Story: A Tea Shop

Hundreds of people come, have tea with some Osmania biscuits and go to their businesses every day. I have stayed here, in the same spot for thirty years now. I inherited the shop from my father and he did from his father and thereon. We are the best tea makers in the city and have stayed in the business since really long.

Short Story: Beautiful Stranger (a tale with a twist)

It was raining outside the window. We were sitting in our office. Our office is in a big room where everybody sits on a big table with their laptops and work together. That day we had to work till late in the night. The client wanted some changes in the project, so we were working on the edits. Everyone was happily working. My boss is a pretty lady and was with us all night long while we all worked. Supervising every action we took.

Short Story: Life of a Factory Worker

It’s a place tucked in the corner, behind the cityscape, with nine floors stacked upon each other. Every day thousands of people enter the factory, work and go back to their homes. They earn their living from it. It is a good place, comfortable place, clean and it seems the factory loves its people. But, I feel it is not what it seems.

Short Story: Life of a Cactus

‘People trample over flowers, yet only to embrace a cactus’

Sitting on the window I saw the kids are playing in the hall, their mother asked the not to go closer to me as I have thorns. Well… those are good kids and I am not sad that she asked them to stay away from me, but the only fact which makes me sad is how did she forget that I have flowers too?

Short Story: Sitting On The Bench I Saw...

It’s a pleasant day…Winters are back after all. It’s neither too windy nor too steady; I am sitting on a bench outside my house, looking at the alley that runs between the two colonies for people to enter the area. A small girl is sitting on the floor, at the gate, with her roller skates on, with a dog, patting him and caressing him. The dog lies on the floor enjoying the attention. The weather is beautiful, it is about to be a sunset. The sky is clear except this one cloud, looks as if it has been a brush stroke of white paint on the blue canvas with fifty shades of red!

The Story of a Forgotten Toy

Sobbing in the corner on a dark road, I lied. Unable to move, dressed in a showy dress, with an elaborate hairdo, tangled in the frills of my dress, I am lost. Where did you go, my lord! I am here, please find me. Lying in this dark ally, in the dirt of a cement jungle.

Short Story: The Baker's Dozen

Tinkle! The glass door behind me closed. Ah! The sweet smell of freshly baked muffins which have a swirly cream icing topped with rainbow colored sprinkles. A man stood behind the counter. He had blue eyes, Santa figured, white as snow wearing an apron with a girl sewed on it in a pink thread, strolling on the grass, jumping with joy and a muffin in her hand, the sun shined in all its glory. The apron said,‘Welcome to la la land’. He wore a pink-pin striped, white pants and shirt and a boat shaped cap. With an angelic smile on his face, he asked, ‘How can I help you two?’ I tucked myself behind my mom, scared to answer the stranger man. ‘OH! Why don’t you take a walk around the shop and see what you want to have?’
