6 Coffee Recipes Worth Waking Up For

Morning means cool winds and the earthy scent after dew and what better beverage to enjoy in this pleasant climate than a steaming cup of hot coffee. After all, what's a rainy day without some delicious coffee flavored solitariness? Therefore, presenting 6 recipes for all the coffee lovers and experimentalists to try this rainy season.

1. Irish Coffee – Whiskey + Brown Sugar + Cream [Prep time: 2 minutes]

Take 1 tablespoon of freshly ground coffee and add it to the filter. Pour hot boiling water over it and let the coffee brew collect. Meanwhile, take cream and add in some powdered sugar and whip till you get stiff peaks. Get your liquid coffee in a cup, heat in the microwave for 60 seconds, add in brown sugar and stir to dissolve. Measure 1 shot of whiskey and pour. Top with whipped cream and serve warm.


2. Mazagran Portugal Coffee – Lemon + Sugar [Prep time: 1 minute]


Add coffee powder in a teapot and pour boiling water. Let it remain for 5 minutes. Add sugar in the cup, squeeze 1/2 of the lemon. Pour in the brewed liquid coffee, stir and have it warm.

3. Spice Coffee – Cardamom + Cinnamon + Nutmeg [Prep time: 1 minute]


Heat a pan and add water, to this add cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg as per liking. Let the water simmer for a while and then add the coffee powder. You can add milk if you prefer or else just let it come to a boil. Add in the sweetener (honey, jaggery or sugar) as per taste. Strain into a cup and enjoy this hot delicacy.


4. Austria Coffee – Egg + Honey [Prep time: 2 minutes]

Prepare your filter coffee or instant coffee by mixing hot water and coffee powder. Crack an egg into the coffee cup and add honey. Add cinnamon or nutmeg or vanilla to mask the egg smell. Make sure the water is boiling hot. Pour hot boiling coffee and whisk continuously. Serve hot.


5. Marocchino Italian Coffee – Espresso shots + Cocoa [Prep time: 2 minutes]

Make espresso shot using a coffee maker o you can directly purchase them from the market. Take 2 shot glasses, add in the espresso shots in each. Add in 1 tablespoon milk in each. Followed by 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder in each shot glass. Mix well. Serve hot.


6. Pumpkin Spice Latte – Pumpkin + Dry Spices + Cream [Prep time: 5 minutes]

In a deep pan combine pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove in equal proportions) and vanilla extract. Cook until the puree starts to bubble up. Add milk and whisk continuously until the mixture is hot and frothy. Pour the coffee into a large mug and add the hot milk. Top it up with some whipped cream and sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove in equal proportions).
